August Photos

Another month, another picture dump! Not much really went on this month (hence the lack of posts haha) but I did get some cute pictures!

First off, we had a medical scare with Kayleigh last weekend. Friday afternoon (Aug 26th), she had a series of seizures which caused her to spend three days in at St. Louis Children's Hospital - two days in the PICU and another day in the Neurology ward. They never were able to find any reason for her seizures beyond a Complex Febrile Seizure but we were sent home with emergency medication to have on hand and she has been back to her normal, crazy self since. It was a scary time but it showed me that God really puts the right people in place at the right time. (Maybe if I feel like it I'll make a separate post on everything.)

She was on isolation the whole time we were there because tests showed she had Rhinovirus (aka, a cold) so when she finally got to get out of her room, in a wheelchair no less, she was extremely excited! Unfortunately it was to get an EEG, which she wasn't too happy about.

The day after she was discharged, we decided to go to the St. Louis Science Center to celebrate, where both girls had a blast and enjoyed some rock candy.
(also, their matching converse sneakers have me all heart eyed!)

But lets back up now to earlier in the month to more happier times!!

I asked Kayleigh to show me a cute pose, and this was what she did. I guess she was channeling her inner Zoolander haha!

We went to the 'beach' at St. Joe State Park and since I never bothered buying a maternity swim suit I had to deal with my 20-some-odd week belly sticking out the whole time haha

Homemade lemonade has become a way of life around here

My normal days: Tuckered out mama with girls who are brimming with energy.

One day Charlie took Kay with him on a run in the jogging stroller and while they were sitting at the playground a bird came up and sat on Kay's lap! She wanted to bring him home, but Dada said no.

And that was pretty much our month in pictures!! Hopefully since the weather is cooling down we should be able to get out and do more things this month!

July Photos

I haven't done a photo dump for a few months now but I thought it was a good time to do it again since I was a little camera happy past month. Most of these have all been posted on my instagram so if you follow me there then you've been them already (username is thekohntribe if you aren't following and want to! I'm also on Snapchat under the same name!)

I 'planted' some wildflower seeds behind the garage and the blooms were just so pretty!

Me and my girls all dressed up for the 4th of July

Swimming has been a weekly, if not daily, thing around here. One day Lexi slipped in the pool and hurt herself and only cuddles with Dada could make her feel better.

Some days when I'm making dinner, Lexi will want me to hold her and nothing else will suffice. Well I found out the tablet is a small distraction that lets me finish cooking without any more tears.

National Ice Cream Day happened this month, too, and of course we celebrated. Chocolate ice cream, crumbled up cookies and brownies with chocolate whipped cream and chocolate jimmies (sprinkles) in a waffle cone. Delicious! The whole month was National Ice Cream Month as well, so ice cream all around!!

Almost a year ago I took a similar picture with the girls and decided to do it again! I'm going to try to remember to do it again next year, and this time we will have 1 more to add to it! <3

Out of all the things I've baked, I've never made muffins so I have been trying my hand at them. They're pretty tasty, if I don't say so myself.

A wooden sign I painted for my cousin. She was redoing a young girl's room as part of their church outreach program and I hope the message if one that sticks with her.

I couldn't believe my luck when I received an email saying I won a gorgeous Lily Jade diaper bag. I decided to get a Meggan in Brandy and I am just so in love with it! I never would have been able to afford one so I am still pinching myself that I won one.

After a long day playing with our friend's neice and nephew, Kayleigh came home and passed out on the couch (the words "I'm not tired!!!" may have been uttered prior to this, too haha)

I have been trying to get outside more thanks to playing Pokemon Go so the girls have been enjoying our near daily walks. I grew up with Pokemon so it's nice to see the game bring communities together and get people outside for exercise.

The girls had their 3 year and 18 month check ups this month. Kayleigh weighed in at a whopping 37lbs! Well, whopping for her because she was in the 20th percentile until a little after she was 2. She is now in the 90th!! Lexi was 23 lbs and in the 75th percentile. Although she isn't a large baby by any means, I still call her my chunky baby because of how much bigger she was than Kayleigh.

We went camping for Charlie's birthday and the girls has a blast swimming in the lake. That night, Kay was so exhausted that she fell asleep sitting in a camping chair in the middle of playing a game on the tablet!!

So that is all from the month of July! I hope to remember to do another picture dump  next month haha!

18 & 19 Week Baby Bump

I realized the other day that I have yet to do a bumpdate, or even take a baby bump photo! Third child problems, I guess? So Monday I set out to take my first official bump photo!

First off, I have to give it up to Kayleigh who 'took' this picture for me. She mainly pressed the shutter button on my remote but it was still a big help so I didn't have to keep running back and forth!

As far as how I feel, my morning sickness is completely gone and I was able to stop taking my medicine for it last week. This was a huge relief to me because with Lexi I was sick for over 6 months!

My energy levels are still low but I don't know if that has to do with being pregnant or with chasing to crazy, energetic toddlers around. My appetite hasn't fully returned yet, unless I am eating Mexican food. I have been craving Mexican (well, Tex-Mex) something fierce and if it was up to me that would be what we ate for dinner every single night. But alas, I am a generous mom and let the family have a variety haha.

I feel like my stomach is soooo big for only being 18 weeks. But I did find out the other day that I could take a picture with all three of my babies in it now!

My ultrasound went awesome as well! There was only one small issue - the tract that connects the kidney and bladder looked small, but the doctor thinks it will fix itself before baby is born. It just means I get a follow up ultrasound at 37 or 38 weeks.

I was so excited to see baby again because last time I was only 7 weeks and baby was just a little blot on the screen. The tech had to zoom in just to get a picture for us!

Kayleigh loved looking at all the photos of the baby. She sat there and pointed out which was the boy and which was the girl. No, we aren't having twins, she is just convinced we are no matter how many times we try to tell her otherwise. (Lexi was too busy jumping on the bed to care)

Like the last two pregnancies, we aren't finding out the sex this time around, so I can't wait until December to meet our little baby girl or boy!

Happy Independence Day! + video

Yesterday was the 4th of July and we decided to go to Rockport to spend the time eating, enjoying fellowship and watching fireworks.

Lexi spotted the watermelon and of course had to help herself. This girl loves watermelon.

Both girls really enjoyed running around with the other kids, which was awesome since there isn't many kids close to their age to play with at home.

Both girls were a little scared of the fireworks at first, but quickly got over their fear and were soon running around like crazy little monkeys.

This is what I refered to Gollum Lexi. She saw that our friend had cheese puffs and tried to horde as many as possible. I can just imagine her muttering, "My Precious!" under her breath haha

I think next to sparklers, the smoke bombs were Kayleigh's favorite

She even got to shoot off a roman candles all by herself!

Lexi really enjoyed stomping on poppers. We brought a few boxes home and had to hide them well otherwise she would try to open and stomp on them.

At one point Lexi decided she would much rather just lie on the ground in the middle of the firework area than run from firework to firework.

Once it got dark, the big fireworks came out and the kids all sat, oohing and ahhing over each one.

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!
