April 2017 Photos

Normally for these monthly photo dumps, I usually just duplicate the photos I posted on instagram but I think I am going to try to start posting more photos that I didn't post there, or different shots than the ones I posted there. That way its not just "Hey, here is my instagram photos from last month!"

Charlie had a dirt bike race out in Westphalia, MO. We 'camped' out with the girls and my parents came out the day of the race so I could get out and take photos of all the racers. It was surprisingly hot day, but it was nice to get to hike through the woods by myself.

Sebastian is 4 months old and is now rolling over both ways, jumps and stands when you hold him and chews on EVERYTHING. We are pretty sure he's getting a tooth in. Where did my little boy go?!

Lexi's eyes are such a crazy, beautiful color. They started out blue but I think they're changing to green, so right now they're a strange hybrid of colors and I love it!

I won some shop credit to Pickles & Roses and the second I saw this donut dress I knew I had to have it for one of the girls. I was a bit sad because Kayleigh is the one who actually loves donuts but the dresses didn't go up to her size. :(

Lexi is starting to phase out her naps so I've been trying out quiet time with her in her room alone. One day I went to check on her after about 20 minutes to find her asleep on the floor in front of the door.

I got tired of how much of an eyesore the girl's old baby play mat was (Bright pink elephants, anyone?) so I decided to try my hand at making a simple wooden one for Bas. It was actually super easy to make and I love that it folds up so small that I can keep it between the TV stand and the wall.

I let Kay play in a mud puddle one day and, well, lets just say that dress isn't the same shade of mint anymore!

The girls new thing is to "Cheers!" everything together - cup, suckers, ice cream, ect. It's completely adorable. The left is the only Easter picture I got of the kids. Really, the only picture I took on Easter. They clean up pretty well, don't they? haha!

Its now May, which not only brings us Mother's Day, but also Kayleigh and My birthdays! The weather is warming up so I hope to have more adventures coming up seen.

Dirt Loving Girls

Ask anyone if little boys or girls are messier and most times the answer will be a resounding, "Boys!" There is also the saying that boys are noise with dirt. However anyone who knows my girls will let you know just how messy and dirty they are. Its so hard to keep their clothes clean and I have tried so many different stain removers trying to keep their clothes somewhat cleaned, but sometimes I just give up.

Case in point, one day Charlie was washing his dirtbike off, which lead to puddles in the yard. After having to tell the girls to stay out of the mud for the millionth time, I gave up and told them to have at it. Kayleigh jumped right in (literally) however, Lexi decided mud wasn't for her and kept telling me it was "too sticky" and asking me to wash her hands.

So when it came time to decide if I was going to try another attempt at my small garden again (I've tried veggies, herbs and flowers the past years with no good results) I decided instead to make a digging area for the girls.

As you can see it was a huge hit. Every time we go outside they girls make a beeline for it.

I bought them some gardening tools and construction cars for them to play with out there to keep them from bringing our indoor toys out there. They love being able to dig around and drive the cars all over.

So I'm sorry if I laugh whenever people mention how clean and mess free girls are, because mine are anything but.

March 2017 Photos

This month was a little busy and stressful since we were house hunting (Yay!) and the weather has been getting warmer so we've been trying to get outside as much as possible.

The first day of spring gave us 80+ degree weather so I decided to take the kids to the zoo with a friend. The girls had an absolute blast but we weren't expecting it to get as hot out as it did so we were only there for 3 hours.

Then we had a cold front come through again but that didn't stop us from playing in the yard. Sebastian chilled out in the swing and fell asleep (and Lexi brought him those leaves haha)

We got Kayleigh the Illustrator Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone for Christmas and she loves pretending she can read it.

Sebastian also got a second 'job' as a brand rep for Caley's Creation's adorable waterproof bibs. (also, how cute is that Dino romper? Ah, I love babies in rompers!!)

Sebastian loves to hang out on my shoulder like this and I wanted to get a picture so bad to remember it by. One day storm clouds were rolling in giving the perfect filtered light through the windows so I decided to try and get the picture and it came out so sweet!

And I'll end on this little clip of Ms. Sassy Pants herself telling me to stop calling her "Wild Thing".
(She says, "No! I'm not Wild Thing! You can't say to me that [sic]. I'm Lexi.")

February Photos

Let's start out this month's photo dump with some ADORABLE Sebastian spam. I had some cute ideas for a group Valentine's Day photo but the girls didn't really want to cooperate, so I just did solo one with my most willing model.

Kayleigh doesn't normally nap anymore but one day she grabbed her owl pillow (which is like a lovey for her), laid down on the floor and passed out. I always forget how sweet her sleeping face is!

A rare shot with me! I thought we both looked pretty cute at church one Sunday and wanted to take a picture.

I somehow managed to luck out this month and won about 4 contests on Instagram. One prize was this diaper bag from Alma Rose, which is really nice! I can't decide if I like it for my Lily Jade better, but my Lily Jade insert makes it super easy to jump back and forth between the two.

We've been having some crazy warm weather for February so we have spent a lot of time outside. The girls both love to climb on the wood pile we have, but Lexi is almost constantly climbing all over it. Also, my kids and dirt seem to go hand in hand haha!

Speaking of climbing, we took them to a playground in Forest Park and Charlie taught Lexi how to climb the rock wall there. She quickly figured it out and after a couple of tries was scaling it better than kids over twice her age. Unfortunately that means she now has the confidence to climb EVERYTHING. As if my hair wasn't gray enough already haha!

I was able to do a successful transfer when Bas fell asleep in the carrier. It lasted a whole 15 minutes, though, until he realized he wasn't snuggled up to me anymore. And Lexi the way Lexi was sitting on the couch with her legs crossed was so cute, I had to get a picture of it!!

And I'll just end it with these pictures here.
