Pregnancy Update: 35 Weeks

Yesterday marked 35 weeks with this pregnancy! It's starting to get real, ya'll! I pretty much have everything ready for the baby, not that we needed much - swing, bed, carseat, and a few cute items. If its a girl, we have clothing galore but we will need to buy some if its a boy. Thankfully I have always been good about getting most of my newborn clothes in gender neutral colors.

Speaking of cute stuff, how cute is all this! I bought the muslin blanket from an etsy shop called The Bobbin Belle (its no longer sold in the store, but she still does custom blankets upon request) The rattle, hat and onesie I actually made myself. Nesting has been hitting me in the form of making things, not cleaning unfortunately.

As for how I feel, I am soooo tired! I manage to stay awake until 10pm most nights but I am typically yawning my head off my 8:30. I am also hungry 90% of the time, but take two bites of something and I'm full. My hips hurt most nights, which causes me to toss and turn which means I don't sleep much, and my movement is starting to become very restricted.

Funny story, yesterday I made the mistake of sitting on the floor to play with the girls (I normally sit in one of their little chairs or on the couch) and I couldn't get up!! I almost had to call Charlie into the room to help me. After about 3 or so minutes I managed to maneuver myself to standing position, but it was hard!
So note to self: don't sit on the floor anymore.

Baby has been moving like crazy, of course. Most rolling around and less kicking, but he still things my ribs are fun to push on. I had a follow up ultrasound Monday to check on baby's urinary tract development (I don't think I mentioned it before but baby has Pyelectasis, which means his/her urinary system isn't developing quite on schedule, in this case the tract connecting kidneys and bladder is measuring small which can cause urine backup into the kidneys. Nothing serious and it's actually not too uncommon! Most times it correct itself before birth, hence the follow up scan. The doctor said it's still a little small however 5 weeks is plenty of time for it to fix itself, so I'm feeling pretty positive about it.

But look at this little face!!!

The tech got a suuuper clear shot! Clearer than she has ever gotten with the girls. The tech also said baby is currently weighing in at 6lbs, and the doctor said she is pretty darn accurate so I might be looking at over an 8lb baby! Lexi was my big one at 7lbs 15oz, so almost 8lbs, but it scares me a bit that this baby will be bigger! Thankfully I had pretty easy and quick births so this one shouldn't be too much different (at least I can hope!)

I'm excited for the holidays coming up and can't wait to meet my little dude or dudette!

Things the kids say part 4

Kayleigh age 3
Me: "ooo a princess tea party book!"
Kay: " oh, no mama, you can't read that. It's too pretty for you."

-talking to another little girl-
"You can talk?!?! Can you breathe too?!"

"I can't read Juno a story, she's gonna fart!!"

Kay: "Its pre-school day! It's my day off!"
Me: "if it's your day off, why are we going to pre-school?"
Kay: "oh, no. It's my day off from you and Lexi."

-walking through the church parking lot-
Kay: "wait daddy, I need to be a froggy!" -starts trying to hop across the parking lot-
Charlie: "no kay, we can't be foggies in parking lots. You need to walk."
Kay: "ok" walks normally until we get to the sidewalk "now can I be a froggy?"
Charlie: " yup, be a froggy!"
-she happily hopped the rest of the way into church-

"Dada got a big boo boo?"
"Yeah, honey, he has a big boo noo and has to go see a doctor."
"....well, I guess even batman gets big boos boos sometimes, right?"

Alexis, age 1
-sees plane in the sky-
"Fly! Fly, mama!"
-jumps up and down-
"No, fly! I no fly!"
-cue tantrum because she couldn't fly-

-points to the hole in the bathroom ceiling where the exhaust fan normally is-
Lexi: "Uh oh. Uh oh, mama. Uh oh!"
Me: "oh no! Lexi, did you do that?"
Lexi: "yes! I touch. Uh oh."
Me: "well, how did you get up there?"
Lexi: "I fly. It no no. Uh oh."

I told her the turkey we were eating was chicken so she'd eat it. ("Bok bok" is what a chicken says)
-takes a bite- mmmmm bok bok yummy!! -takes another bite- mmmMMMMmmm bok bok!

(Lexi had been sick for a few days and had been sleeping with me at night)
Lexi: "I wanna go to bed."
Me: "...ok, let go to bed, then!"
Lexi: "no, mama's bed! Mama's bed!"
Me: "sure, go get in mama's bed."
-Lexi run and climbs into the bed and snuggles under the covers-
Me: "you look pretty comfy. Is mama's bed comfy?"
Lexi: -devilish grin- "no, no mama's bed. This MY bed."

October Picture Dump

Another month, another round of pictures!!

I was working on the girls' halloween costumes and decided to have a little fun with Kay's batman mask

Charlie and I took Lexi to the park on day while Kay was in preschool. We were on a walk and I snapped this picture and later I realized that I took a similar one on the same path at the same park of Kayleigh when I was 7 months pregnant with Lexi, and this time I was 8 months pregnant with Lexi's little sibling.

Lexi and Little Bit have such a funny relationship - Little Bit hates how Lex will chase and harass him but he will always come running up to her for some love. I was lucky to catch this sweet moment because they don't last very long.

I was supposed to be taking a nap with Lexi but couldn't stop starting at how sweet she was.

A little halloween fun with Kay!

Halloween 2016 Megapost

I normally don't get into doing special things for any of the Holidays, but for some reason this year I have been really wanting to get into the holiday spirit. Decorating, Crafting, going to events. I don't know what it is but I have so many things I want to do this year!

To start off, I dusted my removable vinyl off and made some Halloween window stickers for the girls to put up. They had a blast and would constantly take them off and put them back on if I let them. (They accidentally ripped a few doing such so I told them to stop so they'd at least last until Halloween!)
Want to know a little secret? I actually flipped this picture after I took it because I forgot to tell my Cricut to mirror when cutting and "Happy Halloween" is actually backwards if viewed from outside. Oops!!)

(If you want the .svg cut file for your Cricut or Cameo, I have it here for free!)

Then we went to Boo at the Zoo! We got there a little later than we meant to so we didn't get to go to all the events but the girls loved running around regardless.

I pulled out my stash of construction paper as well and whipped up some Halloween crafts. I first had the girls paint the sky while I cut out all the shapes. Then after the paint dried I let them glue everything down.

Kayleigh got to make a haunted house and Lexi made a pumpkin patch

For the first time ever we carved pumpkins, too! Kayleigh requested 'scary and angry faces'

Sunday night we went to a trunk or treat at Kay's preschool. The girls were all over but I managed to get a picture of Lexi digging into her candy bucket.

And then there was the actual Trick or Treating Monday night! We made a quick round at a friend's neighborhood because Charlie had to work that night but the girls were getting pretty tired by the end so it all worked out. They had a blast.

Charlie and I have already been talking about how crazy its going to be next year with three kiddos and what costumes we want to be.

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!!
